Nigel Hopkins
A former Opportunity Knocks winner and child prodigy trumpet player became a studio regular and was instrumental in securing commercial investment from a neighbour enabling the studio to make quantum upgrade to 24 track .
Mark Eden and Nigel Hopkins collaborated on a number of successful 'novelty' dance tracks under the pseudonym 'Krakamaraka' including 'King Konga' (featuring the wonderful Addrienne Loehry) and 'El Vino Collapso' latterly covered by the infamous Black Lace. Nigel regularly contributed brass arrangements to Misty Studio 24 track productions.
WHERE ARE THEY NOW ? ~ Nigel still continues to write and record in his own home studio in Portland (Nr Weymouth) and also manages a lighthouse. (No seriously he does !). Visit NigelHopkins.co.uk for the full lowdown on his studio and music licensing company 'Crazy Lighthouse records' |
